Out of context

I love looking at illustrations and quotes from books that are taken out of context.
The quotes and images have new and individualized meaning when seen without the rest of the book.

  1. Of course this was also the original context as the Tintin strips used to be published in single, daily installments. What I love about them is that it's one single, massive idea played out on a single page. It's simple enough to excite you even without seeing the full curve of the story. Hergé called the whole style 'ligne claire' or the 'democracy of lines'.

Rob said you had a blog. Excuse the cyber-stalking.

    All the best,
